Rules:

Competition commences at 8:30 am

Competitors must check in at 0800 each day at South Coast Board Rides, St Clair

All heats are 20 minutes duration, 4 surfs, best 3 waves
Finals 25 minutes duration, 4 surfs

Paddle out on Yellow Flag / 5 minutes to go

Interference:
Please enjoy your heat and be sportsmanlike.
Drop-in and paddling interference will be penalised.

Equipment:
Any surfboard is acceptable

Judging:
Standard Criteria. Turns and manoeuvres are points scores. Critical positioning is paramount.

Return to beach in prone position
Competitors who free-surf and interfere with those competitors in a heat will be penalised.

Green Flag: heat in progress

Yellow Flag: 5 minutes to go

Red Flag: Competition on hold

The contest is mobile and will endeavour to surf the best available waves

Optional Longboard Event: all competitors

Boards pre 1960 9ft and/or 8ft ‘vee’ bottoms
Subject to scrutineering if suspect
Same rules, no leg ropes, boardies must be worn, at least over wetsuits
Boards provided by Host club if required
