Injury Prevention & ACC

acc logoSport and recreation injuries have a huge impact on New Zealanders.  Each year there are approximately 330,000 sports injury claims - 1 in 4 claims made to ACC. Most injuries in sport and recreation are easily preventable and often are the result of a number of conditions and circumstances.

ACC SportSmart is a 10-point action plan for sports injury prevention that can be applied to all sports.

Otago Sports Injury Clinic
The Otago Sports Injury Clinic will provide injury and medical assistance for the Otago Community Trust New Zealand Masters Games 2018

During the Masters Games service will provide at the following at :
 
     Sargood Centre, Logan Park Daily from 8.30am  to 5pm 
     Edgar Centre, Sat 3, Sun 4, Fri 9, Sat 10, Sun 11 from 8.30am to 5pm
     Bishopcourt (Touch) Sat 3, Sun 4 from 8.30am to 5pm
     Mobile Medical coverage will be the Cycling Veodrome and the walks, runs and duathlon
 
Charges:
Doctor and/or physiotherapists
No charge is made for seeing ACC related injurisies at the clinic.  A charge may apply for non-ACC illnesses and conditions.
 
Strapping:
A charge may be made for strapping of $2 for small strapping or $5 for large strapping
