Welcome from the Games Manager

It is a huge privilege and honour for me to welcome you to the 30th New Zealand Masters Games in Whanganui.

In New Zealand, sport and recreation is embraced by young and old, across all walks of life, and plays a significant part in our everyday lives. The New Zealand Masters Games embodies this spirit of participation. Many of us will know friends, family and colleagues who will be participating, and I look forward to being among the thousands of locals and visitors inspired by seeing athletes of all ages and disciplines in action in our top-class venues.

Some of you may be participating for the very first time, others may have many Masters Games under their belt. For all, the New Zealand Masters Games represents new challenges, new experiences, and new friendships.

For our new Masters Games friends from outside Whanganui, I invite you to enjoy all that our part of the world has to offer: our rich Arts and Heritage culture, our abundant outdoor attractions, our legendary hospitality, and our beautiful environment.

I hope the 30th New Zealand Masters Games provide you with memories to last a lifetime, and inspire you to continue your personal journey, spurred on by the lifelong love of sport.

Don't forget to keep up with all the latest information by subscribing to our newsletter or follow us on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram

I look forward to seeing you all in 2019!

Tasha Parker
