Swimming – open water

Minimum Age:
20+ as at first day of competition

Age Groups:
20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 -54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75 – 79, 80+

Events:

• Men’s: 2000m Open Water Swim
• Women’s: 2000m Open Water Swim

Additional Information:

• Start time is subject to change based on tides. 
• No wetsuit/non-wetsuit categories.
• Please note this swim is in the Whanganui River and is tidal. Safety boats will be on course and first aid available on site.
• Event starts at the Multisport Clubrooms and finishes at the Union Boat Club pontoon, at 1C Taupo Quay.
• Participants should consider their physical fitness before entering this event.
• Please note that if a cancellation is required due to poor weather, a postponement date will be advised.
